Zusammenfassung: | The nature of the color indicator is modified to correct for measurement errors due to interference by added oxygenated organic compounds such as ethers. These are commonly added as replacements for lead additives for octane index improvement. A color indicator is for use in the detection and measurement of saturated, olefinic and aromatic hydrocarbons in petrols and jet fuels, also containing organic 6C minimum oxygenated compounds, by liquid phase column chromatography. The indicator comprises different dyes eluted selectively with each family of hydrocarbons, and the dyes eluted with aromatic hydrocarbons are devoid of organic compounds with an affinity for 6C minimum oxygenated organic compounds. Independent claims are also included for the preparation of the indicators and their use. |
