Zusammenfassung:	The airbag module has a retaining element(12) with at least one locking section(14) which in the locked position extends along the housing wall(16) and on its side opposite to that facing the housing wall is locked by a retaining section(22) of the housing(10). The locking section is held in the locked position by a protrusion(18) located on the housing wall. The retaining section of the housing and the housing wall define an intermediate space for the locking section ending in front of the protrusion. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for fixing the retaining element on the airbag housing in which the locking section of the retaining element is shifted by its free end(20) in the direction of the protrusion, pressed against the bevelled face(26) of the protrusion, and deflected away from the housing wall until the locking section of the retaining element is engaged by the retaining section of the housing.
