Unbridged monocyclopentadienyl metal complex catalyst for olefin polymerization by reacting with particulate solids with functional groups

There is provided a catalyst containing a transition metal precursor having the formula (C5R 5)MQ3, a particulate solid containing functional groups, a bulky hydroxyl-containing hydrocarbon, and an aluminoxane. There is also provided a polymerization process employing the catalyst composition, a polymer produced using the catalyst, and a cable produced therefrom.
