Zusammenfassung:	An alignment guide and method is provided for assisting the insertion of a stem of a prosthetic orthopedic implant into a prepared bone cavity. A preferred embodiment provides an alignment guide for aligning a fluted stem of a femoral hip stem of a hip joint prosthesis to be inserted into a prepared femoral canal. Other keyed features on an implant may also be used for alignment of the implant insertion.
