Zusammenfassung: | A can-less air depolarized electrochemical cell (10) comprises an anode (12), a cathode (14), including an air cathode assembly (26) openly exposed to the ambient environment and/or defining at least a portion of the outer surface of the cell, and a separator (16). The cell (10) can comprise a bottom member (30) defining a bottom of the cell (10), and a top member (24) defining a top of the cell, the air cathode assembly (26) extending between the bottom member (30) and the top member (24) as the exposed or outer portion of the cell. The anode (12) has an anode cavity disposed inwardly of the separator (16) and upwardly of the bottom member (30), and the cavity contains a mass of electroactive anode material (20). An elongate anode current collector (22) extends into the anode material. The top member (24) can comprise a top contour washer (206) having inner and outer downwardly depending legs (214,212) receiving an upper edge portion of the cathode assembly (26) in a slot (208) therebetween, and an insulating grommet (204,210) in the slot, electrically insulating the cathode assembly (26) from the top contour washer (206) and sealing against liquid leakage out of the cell (10) through the slot (208). |
