Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	A cooling system for hot rolled metal strip has the strip passing under a curtain of coolant dropped by a line of dropper tubes fitted to a tank mounted over the strip feed. Each dropper pipe is fitted with a valve (6) which opens and closes the coolant flow via a common control (8). This enables the operator shut off the coolant rapidly and without excess flow. The flow valves are operated by a slider or by a rotating drive shaft (7). The slider/shaft has seals (19) to contain the coolant. The ends of the dropper tubes are fitted with flow control apertures to generate the coolant curtain.
