Zusammenfassung:	This invention relates to an improved finishing roll sleeve and method for extruding thermoplastic articles and, more particularly, relates to an improved method for providing smooth upper and lower surfaces to a thermoplastic substrate such that said substrate is particularly useful in optical media applications, such as CD-ROM cards. Such applications require the use of substrates having polished surfaces on both sides and a birefringence of less than twenty-five (25) nm. Further requirements for optical media applications include abrasion, chemical and UV resistance, substrate thickness consistency, thermal shrinkage and barrier resistance to water vapor.
