Zusammenfassung:Disclosed is a use and an improvement of a reactor for generating a high liquid surface in high viscous liquids or melts. The reactor has at least two longitudinally intersecting cylindrical interior chambers, each with a rotating shaft through its length. Each shaft has a plurality of stirrers (12) and spacers (14) designed to wipe all interior surfaces of the reactor (10). The stirrers (12) can be shaped as a cycloid or involute profile, for example. Generally the stirrers on each shaft are indexed from one another preferably by 90 DEG and intermesh with stirrers on the adjacent shaft. The reactor has an angle of inclination of at least 2 DEG to the horizontal line, for the purpose of increasing the flow rate. Its is not only suitable for polycondensation processes, but generally for the treatment of liquids, because of its ability to generate large surface/volume ratios, of its mixing capacity and of its capacity of washing all internal surfaces permanently.
