Zusammenfassung:	The method involves forming a straight strip (12) of a friction material which has a width equal to the final width of the lining and then bending it into a continuous ring with the aid of conical rollers (26) and a circular guide (32). The circular edges (14, 16) of the annular strip are trimmed simultaneously to give the required ring width and the ring is cut into sections with stepped ends. The initial material for making the friction linings is, for example, a fibre mat impregnated with a thermosetting resin, and the rings produced can be either flat or conical in shape.
