Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A demand printer (60) of the type used for printing on tickets (508), tags (508), pressure sensitive labels (2, 506) and other media (87), said printer (60) having various components comprises a structure (73) for supporting said components; a power supply circuit (138) for receiving power from an external source and conditioning said power for the operation of said printer (60); input means (618) for receiving command signals related to the operation of said printer (60); control circuit means (108) mounted on said structure (73) and coupled to said input means (618) and said power supply circuit (138) for processing said command signals and generating corresponding control signals for controlling the operation of said printer (60); printhead means (84) for receiving said control signals from said control circuit means (108) and printing indicia onto said media (87); media delivery means (86) operatively associated with said printhead means ( 84) and coupled to said control circuit means (108) for moving said media (87) to said printhead means (84) in response to said control signals; a ribbon take-up spindle (90) of said media delivery means (86) for accumulating spent printing ribbon (96) and facilitating removal of said ribbon (96) from said ribbon take-up spindle (90), said ribbon take-up spindle (90) having a surface (356) with a protrusion bore (358) formed therethrough; at least one protruding segment (362) extending through said protrusion bore (358) in said ribbon take-up spindle (90), said protruding segment (362) controllably projecting away from said ribbon take-up spindle surface (356) for maintaining a space between a portion of said ribbon take-up spindle surface (356) and said spent ribbon (96) accumulated on said ribbon take-up spindle (90); shaft ramps (384) of said retracting means (372) radially extending from said shaft (354); blade ramps (386) of said retracting means (372) formed on said at least one blade (362) for cooperatively abutting said shaft ramps (384) moving said least one blade (362) zin a radial direction relative to said central spindle axis (360); said biasing means (370) operatively associated with said shaft (354) for biasing said shaft ramps (384) against said blade ramps (386) to bias said least one blade (362) through said slot (358), movement of said shaft (354) compressing said biasing means (370) for allowing movement of said least one blade (362) towards said central spindle axis (360); biasing means (370) ope
