Method and arrangement for controlling log-in admittance of a network terminal
To admit network terminals (NT1, NT2, NT3, NT4) which are coupled to a central station (CS) in a multipoint-to-point network to log-in or to become operational, network terminal identifiers (TI_a, ..., TI_h) are partitioned in groups (G1, G2). One (G1) of the groups (G1, G2) is selected and only net...

Zusammenfassung: | To admit network terminals (NT1, NT2, NT3, NT4) which are coupled to a central station (CS) in a multipoint-to-point network to log-in or to become operational, network terminal identifiers (TI_a, ..., TI_h) are partitioned in groups (G1, G2). One (G1) of the groups (G1, G2) is selected and only network terminals (NT3) having a network terminal identifier (TI_b) which forms part of the selected group (G1) are admitted to transmit a terminal identification message (TIM_NT3) towards the central station (CS) to attempt to become operational. The method is very efficient in case a large amount of network terminals attempt to log-in simultaneously. This happens for instance at initialisation of the network or after a network crash. |
