Constraining ring for a hip cup

A prosthetic hip cup comprises a porous hemispherical shell (10), a constraining ring (14) and a moulded polyethylene component (16). The hemispherical shell (10) is formed from fibre metal mesh, and the moulded component (16) is formed from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWP) material.
