Zusammenfassung:	A vehicle strut type suspension system has a lower arm comprising a lateral arm (31) and a compression arm (60). One end of the lateral arm is rotatably connected to a hub carrier supporting a wheel (1), and the other end thereof is rotatably connected to a vehicle body (2). One end of the compression arm is rotatably connected to the lateral arm at first connecting points (50, 54) of the hub carrier side end portion of the lateral arm, and the other end thereof is rotatably connected to the vehicle body at a second connecting point (70) spaced away from the other end of the lateral arm in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Upon application of an external force to the wheel, the other end of the compression arm is displaced along a straight line connecting the first connecting points to the second connecting point. The suspension system is compact and superior in durability.
