Zusammenfassung:	The method applies to a rotor (1) coupled to the shaft (2) of a drive (3), with a tachometer (4) on the shaft and an accelerometer (5) on the drive casing (19). The accelerometer is based on a piezo crystal (16) with electrodes (17, 18) and a mass (20) on the opposite side. The rotational speed signal passes through an adaptive band-pass filter (11) to a rectifier (13) and differentiator (14) for automatic detection of sudden changes in amplitude. An audible or visual warning is given (15), and a reference comparator (22) triggers an alarm (23) in the event of failure of the fundamental oscillation signal.
