Hybrid s-triazine light stabilizers substituted by benzotriazole or benzophenone moieties and compositions stabilized therewith

A cpd. of formula (I) or (II) is claimed (where X and Y = same or different and are phenyl opt. substd. by 1-3 lower alkyl, halogen, hydrogen or alkoxy; T1 = H, chloro, 1-4 C alkyl or -SO H; T2 = 1-12 C alkyl; R1 = H, chloro or -OE; R2 = H or 1-18 C alkyl; E3 = H, 1-4 C alkyl, chloro or -SO3H; R4 = H, chloro or -OE5; R5 = H or 1-18 C alkyl; R6 = H, hydroxyl or carboxy; G1 = H, or when G1 is in the 5-position of the phenyl ring, G1 is also straight or branched 1-24 C alkyl, 5-12 C cycloalkyl or 7-15 C phenylalkyl; R = H, straight or branched 1-24 C alkyl or 5-12 C cycloalkyl; or the alkyl of cycloalkyl substd. by 1-8 halogen, epoxy, glycidyloxy, furyloxy, -R2-OR3-N(R3)2, -CON(R2)2,-COR5-COOR3,-OCOR3,-OCOC(R3)=C(R3)2-C(R3)=CCOOR3, -CN,-NCO or cpd. of formula (III) and combinations of these; or the alkyl or cycloalkyl interrupted by 1-6 epoxy, -O-, -NR3-, -CONR3-, -COO-, -OCO-, -CO-, -C(R3)=C(R3)COO-, -OCOC(R3)=C(R3)-, -(R3)C=C(R3)-, phenylene or phenylene-G-phenylene in which G is -O-, -S-, -SO2-, -CH2- or C(CH3)2, or combinations of these; or the alkyl or cycloalkyl both substd. and interrupted by the combinations above; or R is -SO2R1 or -COR4; R1= 1-20 C alkyl, 3-18 C alkenyl, 5-12 C cycloalkyl, 7-15 C phenylalkyl, 6-10 C aryl opt. substd. by one or two 1-4C alkyl; R2=6-10 C aryl opt. substd. by 1-3 halogen, 1-8 C alkyl or 1-8 C alkoxy, 5-12 C cycloalkyl, 7-15 C phenylalkyl, opt. substd. on the phenyl ring by 1-3 halogen, 1-8 C alkyl, 1-8 C alkoxy or combinations of these, or straight or branched chain 2-18 C alkenyl; R3= as for R, or R is also H or straight or branched 1-24 C alkyl; or R3 is cpd. of formula (IV) where T is H, oxyl, hydroxyl, 1-12 C alkyl opt. substd. by at least hydroxyl or lower alkoxy, benzyl of 2-28 C alkanoyl; R4 = straight or branched 1-18 C alkyl, straight or branched 2-18 C alkenyl, phenyl, 1-12 C alkoxy, phenoxy, 1-12 C alkylamino, 6-12 C arylamino or a gp. -R5COOH or -NH-R6-NCO; T6 = 2-14 C alkylene or o-phenylene; R6 = 2-10 C alkylene, phenylene, tolylene, diphenylenemethane or cpd. of formula (V).
