Zusammenfassung:	The radar device is mounted on a vehicle and detects the position and the velocity of objects in the vicinity of the vehicle. The device transmits and receives a continuous frequency modulated signal, and includes an evaluation unit. The transmitter (10) transmits the radar signal for time intervals that are determined by the velocity (15) of the vehicle. At higher speed of the vehicle the transmission interval becomes longer, and at lower speed it becomes shorter. The time interval at higher speeds is pref. increased to allow the transmitter to reach a predetermined condition respective to output power or frequency stability.
