The invention relates to a hollow post (1) with an accompanying mounting element (2) for securing wires, pipes and mesh panels constructed of wire to the post (1), in which the post (1) is provided with at least one aperture (3) and in which the mounting element (2) is provided, on the one hand, with a connecting pin (4) specially adapted to the aperture (3) with longitudinal openings (5) for the formation of movable wedges (6) and, on the other hand, with a longitudinal bore hole (7) and an accompanying nail (8) specially adapted to the bore hole (7) for securing the pin (4) in the aperture (3), in which the aperture (3) is provided with a bushing (10) which forms one piece with it and the longitudinal openings (5) in the connecting pin (4) only run over a part of the length of the pin (4), such that the pin (4) is provided at its base with a closure section (11) for its insertion into the bushing (10).
