PhOH, alpha -methylstyrene (I) and cumene (II) are recovered from a mixt. of a bisphenol-A tar (from its prodn. by condensation of PhOH, Me2CO and a PhOH tar (in turn from the prodn. of PhOH from (II))) by the thermal de-compsn. of a mixt. of the bisphenol-A tar and the PhOH tar at 290-360 [deg]C.
