Surgical needle and mold for manufacturing the same

A surgical needle (A) has a top edge (7) formed by two pressed faces (6a,6b) located inside or outside of curvature from pressing a material blank made of austenitic stainless steel having fibrous texture and cutting edges (10) formed on both sides of a base (5). The top edge (7) is sharp at a needle point (3) and the sharp needle point (3) is constituted of fibrous texture formed at the surface layer of the material blank. Grinding marks (20) extending crosswise formed on the face (16,17) of the mold (B) are transferred to the pressed faces (6a,6b). A mold (B) constitutes plural faces (15-17) forming projecting angles (angle between two intersecting faces is 180 DEG or below, and the line at which the two faces intersect is made as a projecting line) along edges of the blocks (11,12) made of two rectangular prisms, and constitutes a cavity (13) by suitably contacting the edges of the blocks (11,12).
