Hair treatment agent and process for its use

An aq. alcoholic compsn. for treating hair contains (A) 0.1-10 wt.% of a film-forming cationic, anionic and/or amphoteric polymer, (B) 0.1-9% of an amphoteric tenside, (C) 0.1-40% of a 2-4C alcohol, and (D) 0.01-2% of an organic acid, and is free from cationic tensides.
