Zusammenfassung:	A protective outer tube (10) of plastic is fed continuously in a linear direction. At a certain point the tube is cut open by a blade (50). A second tube (12) is fed from a reel into the outer tube via the created slot. The inner tube can carry electrical or optical cables. At a further point the outer tube is closed by the action of a heating element (35). Drive rollers (21) provide the feed motion.
