Method for enhancing the toughness of manufactured diamond

The toughness of a batch of diamond grains is increased by treating a synthetic single crystal diamond at temperatures from about 900 to about 2000 degrees Centigrade at pressures from about 10,000 to about 70,000 bars for a period of time sufficient to impart enhanced strength to said diamond.
