Process for separating hydroxy mono- and tricarboxylic acids

Sepn. of hydroxy mono- and tricarboxylic acids from aq. solns. contg. at least one of these acids is effected by contacting the soln. with an adsorbent material comprising a zeolite with an SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of ≤ 400, and recovering the acid(s) from the adsorbent material by desorption.
