Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to PTP-D1, a member of the novel PTP-D subfamily of protein tyrosine phosphatases. The present invention is directed to isolated PTP-D1 protein, nucleic acid constructs encoding for PTP-D1, cells containing the nucleic acid constructs, and methods for production and identification of PTP-D1. Antibodies to PTP-D1 protein and methods for screening molecules which can bind to PTP-D1 protein or inhibit or stimulate the protein-tyrosine phosphatase enzymatic activity of PTP-D1, are also provided.
