Zusammenfassung:	A vehicle tracking system for determining the position of a vehicle, which includes a dead reckoning (DR) mechanism including a heading sensor and a distance sensor and a Global Positioning System (GPS) mechanisms. The system further includes an adjustment mechanism connected to the DR mechanism and to the GPS means, with the adjustment being operative in using the GPS mechanism to improve the accuracy of the position calculated by the DR mechanism.
