Lifting- and arresting-device for the roof and the upper loading-platform of covered double-deck car-carrier wagons

The invention relates to a lifting and arresting device for the roof and the upper loading platform of covered double-deck car carrier waggons, which, for the purpose of adaptation to different vehicle outlines and transport requirements, have a vertically adjustable vehicle roof and loading platform. Starting from the objective of providing a drive for the roof and loading platform as well as a bearing for covered double-deck car carrier waggons in which the respective position of roof and upper loading platform is freely selectable, of keeping the expenditure on manufacture and maintenance low, increasing functional reliability and ease of movement and simplifying control, combined roof and loading platform spindle transmissions (8) are present in each supporting pillar (3-6) for the vehicle roof (1), a reversible drive which is common to the said transmissions (8) or to a pair of supporting columns (3-6) being provided. Guide elements (15) for the vertical guidance of the roof and loading platform between vehicle roof (1) and supporting pillars (3-6) and between the upper loading platform (2) and supporting pillars (3-6) are arranged laterally outside the supporting pillars (3-6), the said supporting pillars (3-6) consisting on the fixed bearing side (18) which is located at one end of the vehicle of roller guides (17) which stabilise the vehicle roof (1) and the upper loading platform (2) in the longitudinal and transverse directions, and consisting on the loose bearing side (19) of roller guides (17) which stabilise the vehicle roof (1) and the upper loading platform (2) in the transverse direction.
