Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a surface disinfectant, in particular for plastic surfaces, which is based on short-chain alcohols and is characterised in that it contains, in aqueous solution, 20 to 30% by weight of ethanol and/or 1-propanol and/or 2-propanol and 0.001 to 0.1% by weight of a free acid from the group of the alkylbenzenesulphonic acids of the general formula and/or ethercarboxylic acids of the general formula R-O-(CH2-CH2-O)n-CH2-COOH and/or alkanephosphonic acids of the general formula where n is an integer from 2 to 16 and R is an alkyl group having 8 to 16 C atoms. The disinfectant can additionally contain 0.001 to 1.0% by weight of peroxide compounds.
