Zusammenfassung:	In a filter for liquids, in particular for fuel for an internal combustion engine, having a closed filter housing composed of two parts, in which housing an annular filter insert provided with end discs separates a dirty space from a clean space, the seal between these two spaces is to be achieved in a structurally simple manner. It is therefore proposed to use, as material for the end disc which seals the annular space (dirty space) between filter insert and filter housing, a swellable plastic, in particular polypropylene, in order to ensure that the end disc seals directly by its outer periphery on the filter housing.
