Zusammenfassung: | The prosthesis is manufactured by knitting a foundation yarn (1) and at least one effect yarn (2). The foundation yarn (1) has a high degree of heat-shrinkability while the effect yarn (2) is substantially heat stable. The structure thus obtained is then heated, for example by immersion in boiling water, so as to shrink the foundation yarn (1) and thereby reduce its permeability to liquids. The shrinking does not significantly affect the effect yarn (2). It is therefore possible to obtain good velvet effects without resorting to very high overfeed rates for the effect yarn (2). |
