Zusammenfassung: | A thermally controllable optical device includes a body of light transmitting material (12) forming an optical resonant cavity structure for a light beam (16) transmitted through said body, wherein the material of the body is such that the resonant characteristics of the device vary with the temperature. An electrical current circuit (26) develops thermal energy to said body sufficient to vary its resonant characteristics. Said body (12) comprises a light guiding channel formed on a substrate having deposited thereon an electrically conductive coating connected to said current circuit. In an alternative form said body comprises a light guiding channel formed within a substrate having deposited thereon an electrically conductive coating connected to said current circuit, wherein said light guiding channel having a relatively higher index of refraction than that of said substrate. |
