The orientation of a body (of a module) relative to a reference coordinate system must be determined, for example in Doppler radar or in inertial sensor units such as gyroscopic systems where data from coordinate-related sensors are combined, or in machine construction where the tool orientation of a numerically controlled machine must be determined under load. 2.2 For this purpose, a device is proposed in which a first orientation sensor unit (1) can be guided from an initial orientation (reference orientation) to an end orientation which is defined with respect to the body (K), the orientation of which is to be determined. For the determinations of the reference orientation of a reference body (R), a reference orientation unit (2) is provided, the orientation of which is and remains defined with respect to the reference orientation. A computing unit (4) is provided for calculating the relative orientation from the measured angular velocities of the two sensor units (1, 2). 2.3 Determination of the orientation of modules or of their pick-up devices related to a reference surface, for example in machine construction particular in aviation technology. |
