Zusammenfassung: | A method of manufacturing an alumina-fiber-reinforced ceramic material which is large in filament content and strength, excellent in resistance to heat, corrosion, and thermal impact, and high in purity of alumina. Sintering is applied to a molded product obtained through the process that: filament yarns of continuous long filaments of a-alumina with high content of alumina are impregnated with slurry in which a water-soluble aluminum compound, an acid such as acetic acid or lactic acid, and a water-soluble organic binder are dissolved and alumina powder having particles each 1 m or smaller in primary particle diameter is dispersed; and the filament yarns impregnated with said slurry are wound around the core material and then dried. Because of filament yarns wound around the core material, a product in an intended shape and less contractible when sintered thanks to large filament content can easily be molded, whereby a fiber-reinforced ceramic material stable in quality can be obtained. |
