Zusammenfassung:	The efficiency in the compounding and manufacturing of plastics using continuously operating two-shaft screw extruders (2) often depends on a good feeding of the extruder. In order to be able to process different grades of plastic in an optimum manner, a preliminary stage is mounted in a pressure-tight manner on the screw barrel (1) of the extruder (2), which preliminary stage consists of a vertical double conical hopper (3) in which a pair of screw helices (4,4') are disposed so as to be drivable from above. These helices (4,4') are connected to two exchangeable feed elements (5,5'), thus achieving a delivery free of dead space.
