Zusammenfassung:	A device for blanketing the surface of a spinnerette plate with a blanketing medium includes a blanketer plate adjacent the downstream face of the spinnerette plate, and supply means for providing the blanketing medium to the blanketer plate. The blanketer plate includes channels having through-holes formed therein such that the blanketing medium will surround the orifices of the spinnerette plate but will not cause the filament being generated to be deflected or to flutter.
