Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the manufacture of hollow articles from thermoplastics material using a blow mould which has at least two blow mould parts (10a, 10b), encloses a generally tubular extruded preform (24) and in which the latter is expanded under internal positive pressure. To achieve asymmetrical closing and/or opening movements of the blow mould parts (10a, 10b) in relation to the preform, the blow mould is displaced, in particular during the closing and/or opening operation, parallel to the opening and/or closing direction, so that an additional movement is superimposed on the blow mould parts.
