Zusammenfassung:	This device comprises: - a thermally insulated enclosure (3) connected to a source of gaseous heat-transfer fluid which is successively hot and cold, - a support (14) capable of being introduced into the enclosure (3), carrying a number of superposed trays (19) between which the components made of alloy with shape memory are arranged, the trays being arranged so as to permit the flow of the gaseous fluid, - a stressing device (32) acting on the trays, perpendicularly to the latter and - a device for controlling the operating cycle.
