Equipment for lifting a load along the vertical axis of a pit and nuclear fuel assembly handling hood fitted with such an equipment having load-and-displacement redundance

The device comprises two hoists (12, 12') fastened to the outer surface of a hollow body (2) comprising a vertical channel (3) in which the load (4) is moved. Each of the hoists (12, 12') comprises two drums (13a, 13b) driven by a common driving means (14). Each of the drums (13a, 13b) of a first hoist (12) is arranged opposite, in relation to the axis of the channel (3), a drum of the second hoist (12'). The device comprises two cables (15a, 15b) which are common to two drums placed opposite each other around the body (2). The cables (15a, 15b) are wound via the end part onto the drums situated opposite each other and run, over their path between the drums, over return pulleys whose axis is stationary (16a, 16b) and over load-support pulleys whose axis is movable and accompanies the load (34a, 34b). The device ensures the support and the movement of the load in the case of a breakdown of one of the driving units (14) and in the case of a breakage of one of the cables. The device can be employed in particular for ensuring the lifting of a fuel assembly in a cask for handling this fuel assembly.
