PROCESS FOR RAPID NUCLEIC ACID DETECTION

A nucleic acid probe assay which combines nucleic acid amplification with solution hybridization using capture and reporter probes followed by immobilization on a solid support is provided. An assay sensitivity equal to 5 copies of HIV I DNA was achieved.
