Zusammenfassung:	Aqueous alkanolamine solution containing acidic anions which form heat stable salts with alkanolamine and low levels of metal cations, such as iron, is reactivated by contacting the solution with a basic anion exchange resin to remove such anions. The exchange resin is then contacted with a base to displace the anions. Iron buildup in the resin is removed periodically by an acid wash.
