Zusammenfassung:	The invention is based on an electro-optical printer in which a raster line recording occurs picture-element by picture-element by means of a row of light gates. To reproduce colour, the light gates of the row are activated three times in succession for each raster line in connection with a change of colour filter. The invention prefers three rows of light gates (10) which are of identical construction and which are arranged at such an angle ( alpha ) with respect to one another that their optical axes (11) intersect in the plane of recording (16). The rows of light gates (10) are associated with differently-coloured light sources (R, G, B) or corresponding colour filters.
