Zusammenfassung:The novel halogenated polycarbosilanes are prepared by reacting, as starting materials, aryl-substituted, in particular phenyl-substituted polycarbosilanes with halogenating reagents, if desired in the presence of a Lewis acid as catalyst, under polar or ionic reaction conditions. The halogen atom which has been introduced can subsequently, if desired, be replaced by another halogen atom by a transhalogenation reaction. Mixed halogenated polycarbosilanes can also be prepared.
