Direct positive photosensitive material

A novel direct positive photosensitive material is provided comprising a support having therein at least one photographic emulsion layer containing internal latent image type silver halide grains not having been previously fogged, wherein the photographic emulsion layer comprises: (1) at least one of compounds represented by the general formulae [I], [II] and [III]; and (2) at least one of compounds represented by the general formulae [IV], [V] and [VI]: R-SO2S-M [I] R-SO2S-R [II] R-SO2S-Lm-S.O2S-R [III] wherein R, R and R may be the same or different and each represents an aliphatic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group; M represents a cation; L represents a divalent connecting group; and m represents an integer 0 or 1; M min 2SO3 [IV] M min HSO3 [V] M min 2S2O5 [VI] wherein M min represents a hydrogen atom or cation. g
