Fuel cell assembly

A fuel cell assembly (1), in which the number of fuel cells (10) can be matched to the respective requirements, and the fuel cells (10) can be wired in series or in parallel in a simple manner. According to the invention, a plate-shaped support (2) is formed from a porous material, which support (2) internally has one or more cavities (3) opened to the outside and is provided with fuel cells (10) on its surfaces. The electrically conductive connection between the fuel cells is made by means of electrically conductive layers (14) which are also applied onto the support (2) during construction of the fuel cells (10). A plurality of such fuel cell assemblies (1) can be assembled to form a module (20).
