Zusammenfassung: | The major outer membrane protein of chlamydial organisms, identified as MOMP, can be effectively and quickly extracted by: A. providing a specimen suspected of containing chlamydial organisms, and B. contacting the specimen with an extraction composition having a pH of at least 8 and comprising a cationic surfactant present in an amount of at least 0.1 mg/ml to extract chlamydial major outer membrane protein antigen from the organisms for detection. Extracted antigen can then be used in a method to determine the organisms in the specimen. |
