Zusammenfassung:A method of making granules from a metal melt provides for generating a jet of the melt which is subjected, at the point of its outlet, the influence of an alternating electromagnetic field which changes in time according to a certain regularity and the direction of vector E &cir& NOt xH &cir& NOt of which coincides with the velocity direction of the jet where E &cir& NOt the vector of the electromagnetic field intensity and H &cir& NOt is the vector of the magnetic field intensity, so that it results in generation inside the melt of three-dimensional forces changing proportionately to the regularity of the fluctuations in the electromagnetic field and initiating a forced disintegration of the jet into separate drops. The melt at the point of its outlet is subjected to a series of pulse influences of the three-dimensional force with a period of repetition of the series equal to the period of the jet self-disintegration, the number of drops obtained during that period being determined by the number of pulses in the series and the dimension of the drops being proportionate to the time intervals between the pulses in the series. The device comprises a reservoir (1) for the metal melt and a sleeve (2) connected by its ends to the reservoir (1) and forming an annular channel embracing an inductor (3) electrically connected to a first current source (4). The sleeve (2) has a section with at least one opening (5) located in the gap of an electromagnet (6) connected to a second current source (7), both current sources being interconnected. The first and the second current sources are designed with programmable parameters and are directly connected to each other.
