Zusammenfassung:	When a floppy disc is used as a memory medium for numerical control data, a disc drive according to this invention provides control such that data to be transferred are read via an interface (4) every time a numerical controller (8) requests a data transfer. In the device in which the data reading head is always in contact with the floppy disc, in particular, it is necessary that the drive motor is appropriately stopped to minimize the wear of the disc while the data are transferred to the numerical controller without interruption. The driving device of the invention performs optimum drive control to lengthen the life of the disc.
