ANALOG ELECTRONIC TIMEPIECE

An analog electronic timepiece comprises time keeping means (1, 2) for producing time of day information, a motor driving circuit (3,4) responsive to the time keeping means for generating motor driving waveforms, and a motor (5) responsive to the motor driving circuit. A time indicating hand (7) responsive to the motor (5) indicates time of day. An acoustic circuit (11, 13) is responsive to the time keeping means for emitting a sound at a predetermined time and includes a speaker (13). A control circuit (9) controls the motor driving circuit (3) so that the time indicating hand (7) is driven in a different way from when time of day is indicated in synchronism with sound emitted by the acoustic circuit. Moreover the control circuit (9) is responsive to the time keeping means for controlling the motor driving circuit so that the time indicating hand indicates the time of day after termination of the sound emitted by the acoustic circuit.
