Support with a surface, which is formed by a fitting (12), in particular for a kitchen sink, a wash-stand (10) or the like, and a carrier (11) for the fitting (12) which, on the edges adjacent the fitting, comprises a groove, for the engagement of a carrier flange (18) of the fitting, which is open inwardly and at the top and which forms a bearing surface (16) for the carrier flange (18) and an end face (17) which, with the end face (19) of the carrier flange (18), defines an intermediate space in which a sealing material is located, characterised in that in the lower section of the intermediate space defined at the bottom by the bearing surface (16) of the groove, there is a filler which is softer than the sealing material which is disposed above the filler.
