Zusammenfassung:The invention concerns a process and a device for programming a home video appliance, in particular a cassette recorder, with the data required for receiving and/or recording selected broadcasts. The data required, which contain details of broadcasts, may be derived from tables transmitted by teletext signals (teletext tables) and stored in a memory (program storage) of the home video appliance. The correspondence between the teletext table selected and a predetermined standard for transmitting programming data to the said appliance (VPV standard) is automatically verified. In the event of non-correspondence, the data required (program source, broadcast date, starting time, VPS time and/or stopping time) are automatically derived, as far as possible, from the selected teletext table in response to a special instruction (''Program''), the inner may be asked to supply the missing data required, and the data required are transferred to the program storage by a process similar to the remote-controlled transmission process generally used in home video appliances. The user can therefore easily program his home video appliance even when using teletext tables which do not correspond to the above-mentioned VPV standard.
