Zusammenfassung: | An upholstered article has increased heat dissipation from the smoulder or open flame site by virtue of a fire barrier material interposed between the outer upholstery cover fabric and the filler or padding materials. The fire barrier material is formed by coating a thermally resistant fibrous substrate, such as glass fibres, carbon fibres, polyaramid, polybenzimidazole or polymetaphenylene diamine isophthalate with a latex containing a finely divided thermally conductive metal, and has a porosity rating of less than 10 cubic feet of air per minute per square foot measured at a pressure of 1/2 inch of water. |
